**Responsibilities:**

* Compile and analyze financial statements
* Manage budgeting and forecasting for SA entity

**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
* Chartered Accounting status or nearly qualified
* Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
* Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
* Strong stakeholder relationship management
* Previous experience with accounting for Securities Trading, Investments, Asset management or Financial Services is preferred

Accounting Officer

The Financial Accountant’s role is to support financial decision\-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, reconciling, and reporting financial data by collaborating with various stakeholders where necessary


  
* Prepare monthly Standard Journals
* Provide support to our South African business ensuring local compliance, monthly reconciliations are performed, implementation of local operating procedures as well as management of cash flow management.
* Provide assistance with monthly HFM reporting where required.
* Performing reviews and audits of internal controls to ensure compliance.
* Perform General Ledger reconciliations and provide meaningful information regarding reconciling items. Long and unusual items are identified, and appropriate action are taken.
* Analyze and interpret data to provide financial management information for decision\-making.

**Job Purpose:**


* To diligently manage stock and pricing related claims (FMCG \& Pharma). Timeous processing/releasing of credit notes within same month of receipt (Pricing \& returns) to minimize risk of payments going on hold/bad debt write offs.


**Key Job Outputs:**


* To provide excellent service to external/internal customers

* Updating claims status on Oracle daily
* Managing/control/updating claims schedules, by customer daily
* To follow up on queries and promptly refer invalid claims to credit controllers

* To perform duties according to policies and procedures
* To provide a monthly progress report on claims resolved and detailed analyses/action plan report on unresolved claims.
