Ready to turn your eye for detail into beautifully crafted wine lists?
We’re looking for a meticulous and highly organised Wine List Assistant to join our Marketing team in Cape Town. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys coordinating creative projects and thrives in the captivating world of wine.
You will support the end-to-end development of customer wine lists, working closely with Sales Consultants, designers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure every wine list is accurate, professionally presented and delivered on time.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate wine list projects from the initial draft through to final approval and production.
- Review all wine list drafts against the approved Master Wine List.
- Proofread content for spelling, grammar, formatting, consistency and overall presentation.
- Verify wine names, vintages, pricing, producer information and other product details.
- Coordinate the review and approval process with the Wine List Committee.
- Consolidate feedback and communicate amendments clearly and accurately to designers.
- Manage customer revisions received through Sales Consultants and ensure all requested changes are addressed.
- Track multiple wine list projects and ensure agreed deadlines and turnaround times are met.
- Maintain accurate version control, records and documented approvals throughout the process.
- Conduct final quality checks before wine lists are submitted to customers or released for production.
- Distribute approved wine lists for database capture and digital asset management.
- Build effective working relationships with Sales Consultants, designers, suppliers and other internal stakeholders.
- Support the continuous improvement of wine list templates, processes and quality standards.
- Plan and prioritise effectively while managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently maintained.
- Adhere to all internal operating policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Two to three years’ experience in an administrative, marketing coordination or project support role.
- Previous experience proofreading business or marketing documents.
- Excellent written English, spelling and grammar.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience reviewing, editing and commenting on PDF documents.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholder requirements simultaneously.
The following would be beneficial:
- A diploma or qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or Hospitality.
- A Cape Wine Academy, WSET, Sommelier or equivalent wine-related qualification.
- Experience in the wine, beverage, hospitality or FMCG industry.
- Experience coordinating creative, design or print-related projects.
- Familiarity with Bynder, JotForm or similar digital asset management platforms.
