WELDING FOREMAN - ( must have 5 plus years in management /supervisory role in manufacturing environment)

Based in Gauteng, Germiston

Salary : NEGOTIABLE

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification preferably with maths and science.
Trade Test Welding
SAIW WELDING practitioner qualification is a must. - IWP - Must be a certified International Welding Practitioner

EXPERIENCE

5 years working in an Manufacturing environment as a welding supervisor. Client manufactures high pressure vessels like heat exchangers. This experience will be an added advantage

SKILLS

Trade Certificate In Welding.
Ability to manage people.
A thorough understanding of fabrication drawings.
Strong communication skills essential.
Formal welding supervisor course (SAIW WELDING practitioner qualification is a must.
Working knowledge of the Health Safety REQUIREMENTS

JOB OBJECTIVE:

To oversee and manage Welding activities during fabrication.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding.
Analyzes work drawings and weld documentation to determine need for supplies, resources and sequence of operations required .
Manage and maintain welder qualification records.
Requisitions supplies , such as welding inspector to maintain specified standards and quality.
Trains workers in operation of equipment.
Set up machines or make trial welds to make test runs and experimental products.
Supervise Fitting and assembly components.
Ensure proper/regular maintenance is done on welding equipment.
Read welding maps etc
Performs other general supervisory duties.

Pay: R250,00 - R350,00 per hour
