Trainee Planner

Sportsmans Warehouse, part of the Holdsport Group, is a national sporting goods retail chain with stores across South Africa.

We are looking for a numerate and driven graduate to join our Footwear and Apparel team as a Trainee Planner, based at our Head Office in Cape Town CBD. This is a developmental role and no prior planning experience is required. The position reports directly to the Merchandise Executive.

What We're Looking For

• A genuine interest in retail planning and analytics
• Good numerical and analytical ability
• Attention to detail and sound organisational skills
• Clear and professional communicator (written and verbal), and a strong team player
• Eager to learn and comfortable working under guidance in a fast-moving retail environment

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with stock planning and allocation
• Supporting sales analysis and forecasting
• Assisting with product placement and promotional displays under guidance
• Monitoring inventory turnover and providing input on stock rotation

Requirements

• Matric (essential)
• BCom or an equivalent degree in supply chain management, retail management, business management or a comparable numerate discipline (essential)
• No prior planning experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel will be an advantage
• Exposure to data analysis or stock handling will be beneficial
