Temporary PM Consultant Contract Type
Fixed-Term Contract (3 Months)
Purpose of the Role
The Temporary PM Consultant is responsible for providing maintenance planning and maintenance management system support during the temporary absence of a permanent planning resource.
The role exists to ensure continuity of maintenance planning activities, preventive maintenance administration, work management processes, and CMMS compliance within the client environment during the contract period.
This position is a temporary replacement role and is linked to a specific operational requirement.
Minimum RequirementsQualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Relevant National Qualification (NQF Level 4 or higher) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Process Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
Experience
- Exposure to maintenance planning, maintenance administration, production support, stores, engineering support, or related industrial environments.
- Basic understanding of maintenance work management processes.
Technical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of preventive maintenance principles.
- Basic understanding of industrial equipment and maintenance processes.
- Experience working with dMS, SAP PM, Maximo, Pragma, or similar CMMS systems will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to generate reports and maintain accurate records.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Own reliable and roadworthy vehicle is mandatory.
- Ability to travel to client sites as required.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently within client environments.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Planning Support
- Support daily maintenance planning activities.
- Review and process maintenance work requests.
- Print and distribute work orders.
- Capture completed work orders within the CMMS.
- Maintain maintenance planning records.
Preventive Maintenance Support
- Support the maintenance and updating of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Assist with PM compliance tracking.
- Ensure PM work orders are generated and issued as required.
Materials and Spare Parts Management
- Create material reservations.
- Support purchase requisition and purchase order processes.
- Verify spare part availability prior to scheduling work.
- Escalate material shortages that may impact maintenance execution.
Scheduling Support
- Assist with weekly maintenance scheduling activities.
- Support supervisors and maintenance teams with planning information.
- Monitor completion of scheduled work.
CMMS Administration
- Maintain accurate maintenance data within the CMMS.
- Support data quality and system compliance activities.
- Assist with equipment and asset record updates.
Reporting
- Generate maintenance reports and KPI updates.
- Assist with backlog reporting.
- Support management reporting requirements.

The Temporary PM Consultant is expected to:
- Represent DISA professionally at all times.
- Comply with all client and DISA policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of communication with client and DISA management.
- Submit timesheets and reports accurately and on time.
- Escalate risks and operational concerns promptly.
- Maintain compliance with all safety requirements.

Fixed-Term Appointment Condition
This position exists solely to provide temporary support during the approved absence of a planning resource.
The appointment is for a fixed period of three (3) months and is linked to a temporary operational requirement. The contract will terminate automatically upon expiry of the fixed term, or upon the earlier return of the employee being replaced, without any expectation of renewal or permanent employment.
Pay: R10 000,00 - R16 500,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
