Stores Controller

We are looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented Storesman to take responsibility for the controlled receiving, storage, issuing and dispatching of raw materials and finished goods within our printing and packaging manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who understands that stock accuracy, documentation and accountability are critical to production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive raw materials, consumables and other goods into stores.
• Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Physically count and inspect materials before accepting them.
• Identify damaged, incorrect or non-conforming materials and place them on HOLD.
• Maintain accurate stock records and organised storage areas.
• Issue raw materials to production strictly according to authorised Work Tickets.
• Verify job numbers, material specifications, quantities and other requirements before issuing materials.
• Record all material movements accurately.
• Receive and account for unused materials returned from production.
• Receive completed finished goods from production.
• Ensure finished goods have the required production/quality release before dispatch.
• Prepare and check customer deliveries.
• Verify product, job number and quantities before loading.
• Ensure the correct goods are loaded onto the correct vehicle for the correct customer.
• Ensure all dispatches are supported by the correct documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores and dispatch area.
• Conduct stock counts and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Report shortages, excesses, damage, incorrect materials and documentation problems immediately.
• Provide daily stores and dispatch information to management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a Storesman, Warehouse Controller or similar role.
• Experience in a manufacturing, printing, packaging or production environment will be highly advantageous.
• Strong stock-control skills.
• Good numerical and counting ability.
• Ability to read and understand Work Tickets, delivery notes and job documentation.
• Computer literacy and experience with stock-control systems or spreadsheets.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills.
• Physically capable of handling materials and working in a production environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Reliable, punctual and disciplined.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.

Candidates with experience in printing, packaging, manufacturing or production stores will receive preference.
