Job description
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
Manage the day-to-day accounting function for Sparcraft, Askari Yachts & Harken SA Own the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, provisions and reconciliations
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reportsPerform bank, supplier, customer and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable recordsSupport SARS submissions, VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance requirements
Assist with cash flow reporting, supplier payment planning, budgeting and forecasting
Improve accounting processes, internal controls and reporting workflows
What We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldMinimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
Strong month-end, reconciliation and management reporting experience
Experience managing a broad accounting function independently
Strong understanding of South African VAT, SARS and statutory requirements
Good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Sage Pastel
Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail, The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to investigate discrepancies
Good communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance teams
Advantageous Experience
The following would be beneficial:Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles Professional Accountant (SA), CA(SA), ACCA or similar qualification Experience with multi-currency transactions and foreign supplier payments Experience with customer deposits, refunds, supplier prepayments and margin reporting Experience improving finance processes, reconciliations and internal controls
About You: You are accurate, organised and deadline-driven. You enjoy getting into the detail, but you also understand how finance supports the wider business. You are calm under pressure, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a growing company where processes are continuously being improved.
Pay: R25 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
