Security Technician

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Security Systems Technician to join our Technical Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding of electronic security systems while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, and repair electronic security systems, including alarms, CCTV, electric fencing, and access control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently and professionally.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical recommendations where required.
• Complete all technical documentation, job cards, and reports accurately and within required timeframes.
• Ensure all installations comply with company standards and relevant industry regulations.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, stock, and vehicles in good working condition.
• Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Participate in the standby roster and attend emergency call-outs when required.
• Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring work is completed safely, neatly, and efficiently.
• Perform any other technical duties as reasonably required.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience installing and maintaining electronic security systems.
• Experience with alarm systems, CCTV, electric fencing, and access control systems.
• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• Valid PSIRA registration.
• Experience in E-Fence.
• SAIDSA registration/certification will be advantageous.
• Clear criminal record.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong fault-finding and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Sound knowledge of electronic security systems and industry best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good computer literacy and experience using digital job reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional, reliable, and committed to delivering quality workmanship.
