Security Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Security Manager to oversee and manage all security operations across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of security policies, managing security personnel, maintaining client relationships, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all security operations across allocated sites.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and security audits.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop security supervisors and security officers.
• Investigate incidents and compile detailed reports.
• Manage disciplinary processes and employee performance where required.
• Ensure all security personnel maintain valid certifications and licences.
• Liaise with clients and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and incident management.
• Monitor deployment schedules and ensure adequate site coverage.
• Ensure compliance with PSiRA, labour legislation, and health and safety requirements.
• Manage firearm control and compliance where applicable.
• Assist in business development and client retention initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications and Certifications

• National Diploma in Security Management (NQF Level 6).
• Valid PSiRA Grade A Registration.
• Valid Firearm Competency Certificate.
• Valid Driver's Licence.
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate.
• Crowd Management Certificate.
• Statement of Results for Learner Achievement from SASSETA.
• Dog Handler Qualification (DH1–DH2).
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Security Management role.
• 5-10 years proven experience managing multiple security sites and personnel.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
• Sound knowledge of security legislation and industry best practices.
• Strong investigation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions.
• Client relationship management skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
• Strong planning, organisational, and administrative abilities.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience within the guarding and corporate security environment.
• Experience managing large security teams.
• Knowledge of labour relations and disciplinary procedures within Security.
