Sales / Order Assistant – Hardware & Aluminium Profiles

We are looking for a reliable and organised Sales / Order Assistant to manage hardware and aluminium profile sales, customer enquiries and order processing.You will assist customers from their initial enquiry through to quotation, order preparation, collection or delivery. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of orders from start to finish.Key Responsibilities

• Respond to hardware and aluminium profile sales enquiries.
• Prepare quotations and follow up with customers.
• Process hardware, profile and online orders accurately.
• Keep customers updated on pricing, availability, order progress, collections and deliveries.
• Pick, check, package and prepare orders for collection or courier dispatch.
• Arrange parcel collections and deliveries when required.
• Coordinate with the showroom, factory and other departments to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.
• Maintain accurate customer, quotation and order information on company systems.
• Assist customers with collections and other order-related requirements at the factory.
• Resolve customer queries promptly or escalate them when necessary.
• Take responsibility for ensuring each order is followed through to completion.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in sales, customer service or order processing is advantageous.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries and orders at the same time.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when preparing quotations and orders.
• Comfortable using computers and online systems.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Reliable, proactive and willing to assist where needed.
• Experience with aluminium, hardware or building-related products is beneficial but not essential.

What We Offer:

• Basic salary of R8,000 per month
• Commission on sales

Application Question(s):

• This position requires you to be at work and ready to start no later than 07:30 each working day. Can you reliably commute to the workplace (Benoni) and arrive on time every day?
• This role involves picking, packing and preparing hardware and aluminium orders. Are you able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 20 kg when required?
• Are you fully computer literate and comfortable using email, web browsers, spreadsheets and online order/customer management systems?
• Are you comfortable dealing directly with customers by phone, WhatsApp/email and in person regarding quotations, orders, pricing and collections?
• The basic salary for this position is R8,000 per month plus commission. Are you comfortable with this remuneration structure?
• This position requires managing several customer enquiries and orders simultaneously and following each order through until collection or delivery. Are you comfortable taking responsibility for this type of work without constant supervision?
• A customer phones asking where their order is, but you do not immediately know the status. Briefly explain what you would do.
• This role requires accurate handling of product codes, quantities, measurements, quotations and customer orders. Are you confident working accurately with numbers and paying close attention to detail?
