We are currently hiring a Safety Officer for a fixed-term contract at Atlantis, Ankerlig.

Position overview

• Safety Inspections & Compliance: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections, ensure safety procedures are followed, and enforce corrective actions for violations.
• Incident Management: Investigate safety complaints, ensure incidents are reported, determine root causes, and oversee corrective actions.
• HSE Training & Support: Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and employee inductions while providing guidance to project teams.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on safety legislation, assist in safety audits (e.g., ISO 45001), and maintain compliance with company and legal requirements.
• Worksite Presence & Oversight: Provide visible HSE support at workshops and project sites, mentor staff, and ensure safety boards are up to date.
• General HSE Administration: Maintain documentation, assist in safety program implementation, and fulfill additional HSE-related duties as needed.

Profile

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience

• Registered as SACPCMP

• Minimum 3-year health and safety field experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities.

• Medical fit and in good physical condition.

• Availability to travel.

• Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Certificate e.g. SAMTRAC / Nebosh. Position location
