SUMMARY: SACPCMP Safety Officer – Large Scale Building Projects

POSITION INFO: A leading and well-established building contractor is seeking an experienced Registered SACPCMP Safety Officer to join their team on prestigious large multi-level apartment developments within Cape Town. Minimum Requirements: Registration as a Safety Officer with SACPCMP (essential) Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Minimum 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer within the construction industry Proven experience on large building projects, including multi-storey residential or commercial developments Thorough understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulations and industry best practices Experience conducting risk assessments, site inspections, audits and incident investigations Ability to implement, monitor and maintain comprehensive health and safety management systems Strong administrative, reporting and communication skills Valid driver's licence and own transport preferred Key Responsibilities: Ensure full compliance with all health and safety legislation and client requirements Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards Implement corrective and preventative actions to maintain a safe working environment Facilitate toolbox talks, safety inductions and ongoing safety training Compile and maintain all safety files, registers and statutory documentation Work closely with site management, subcontractors and the project team to promote a strong safety culture The Successful Candidate Will Be: Professional and highly organised Assertive with the ability to enforce safety standards Detail-orientated and proactive A strong communicator capable of engaging with all levels of site personnel This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering high-profile apartment developments in Cape Town.
