Job description
Job Purpose - Site Manager
The Site Manager has overall accountability for the complete and efficient operation of a fuel service station.
This includes managing the fuel forecourt, convenience store, and any on-site Quick-Service Restaurants (QSRs) to ensure the site runs safely, cost-effectively, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Stock Management
Oversee all daily site activities, including fuel dispensing, retail, and food service.
Manage fuel levels, retail inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and reconciliation to minimise losses.
Financial Management & Sales
Drive sales and profitability through promotions and merchandising.
Manage cash-ups, monitor budgets, control expenses, and complete financial reporting.
Team Leadership
Lead, train, and performance-manage a diverse site team, including fuel attendants and cashiers, across multiple shifts.
Health, Safety & Compliance (HSSE)
Ensure strict compliance with the OHSA (Act 85 of 1993) and other environmental regulations.
Conduct inspections, enforce safe handling of hazardous materials, and maintain emergency readiness.
Customer Service & Security
Resolve complaints promptly to maintain high service standards.
Oversee site security, including monitoring CCTV, handling cash, and preventing theft and fuel loss.
Reporting & Administration
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports, and maintain accurate records of stock, sales, and staff attendance.
Requirements & Skills
Matric/Grade 12 certificate is required; a post-matric qualification in Business/Retail Management is added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in fuel retail, FMCG, or high-volume retail.
Proficiency in MS Office, POS systems, and stock control software.
Ability to manage high performing retail site or shop, team and work in a fast-paced.
Must possess strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
A valid driver’s licence is often required.
Pay: From R20 000,00 per month
