Job description
Restaurant / Club Manager – Cape Town
We are looking for an experienced Restaurant / Club Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy, high-energy hospitality venue in Cape Town.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in bar management, front-of-house operations and food & beverage management, with the ability to lead a team, maintain service standards and take full ownership of the venue during their shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall daily operation of the restaurant and club
- Lead, supervise and manage front-of-house, bar and floor staff
- Oversee bar and food & beverage operations
- Manage stock, ordering, wastage and cost control
- Monitor cash-ups, tills and daily financial controls
- Identify and prevent theft, stock losses and fraudulent activity
- Manage staff performance, rosters and attendance
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
- Ensure consistently high standards of service, cleanliness and presentation
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen, security and other operational teams
- Deal with operational issues and make decisions confidently under pressure
Requirements
- 3–5 years' proven management experience within a restaurant, bar, club or similar hospitality environment
- Strong bar management experience
- Proven front-of-house and food & beverage management experience
- Excellent knowledge of stock control and cash handling
- Strong ability to identify theft, discrepancies and losses
- Proven staff management and leadership skills
- Professional, confident and well-presented
- Able to work independently and take responsibility for the venue
- Comfortable working late nights, weekends and variable hours
- Own reliable transport to Cape Town city centre is essential
- Contactable references required
Working Hours
5 days per week, with Sundays off plus one additional weekday off.
Working hours will vary depending on the venue's operational requirements and events. Shifts may typically be from 17:00 until closing or 21:00 until approximately 04:00.
Flexibility is essential.
Salary
Competitive salary, depending on experience and suitability for the position.
