Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Regional Sales Manager – MCA is responsible for leading the growth and execution of GoTyme Bank's Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) business across Gauteng. This role is accountable for driving regional sales performance, expanding the MCA portfolio, and ensuring the sales team consistently delivers against business objectives and agreed KPIs.
The successful candidate will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional sales team while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer obsession. They will be responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies, building a strong pipeline of quality merchant opportunities, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences throughout the sales journey.
This role requires a commercially driven leader who is equally comfortable in the field engaging with merchants and partners, as they are analysing sales performance, forecasting results, and leveraging AI-driven insights and data analytics to optimise decision-making. The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Credit, Risk, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Distribution—to deliver sustainable growth while maintaining strong governance and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with a track record of exceeding targets, building high-performing teams, and driving business growth within financial services, SME lending, merchant acquiring, fintech, or related industries. They should be highly organised, data-driven, adaptable, and passionate about helping South African businesses access fast, simple, and responsible funding solutions through GoTyme Bank's MCA offering.
Requirements Experience and Skills Required:
- 5 years + Sales experience.
- Matric / Grade 12.
- AI & data analytics proficiency essential.
Responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed sales targets in line with business expectations.
- Correctly utilizing/updating/assessing all reporting and sales tools including the sales management software tools, Salesforce.
- Monthly/quarterly goal setting and reporting on regional sales.
- Update and communicate all commissions and earnings with the sales team.
- Successfully completing additional initiatives and meeting National Sales Executive expectations.
- Manage the regional sales team in line with agreed KPIs.
- Ensure evaluation of staff in line with key performance indicators, development goals and objectives.
- Identify and develop sales opportunities.
- Create/implement and execute overall sales strategy for the sales team, along with setting aggressive goals to ensure continual growth across all covered regions, and building and maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
- Ensure that our clients continually receive the highest level of sales and operational customer service in line with business expectations.
- Building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
- Accomplish regional sales human resource objectives with involvement in recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees in assigned districts; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Lead and support the region through proactive change and breakthrough thinking.
- Build strong working relationships with the various departmental stakeholders in order to drive sales performance.
- Attend site visits in line with business requirements.
- Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activity and communicate findings to relevant parties.
- Other Functions:
- Special projects as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
