Job Advert Summary

TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation. We provide health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. THC provides a stimulating work environment and the opportunity to work with leaders in the field of HIV and TB prevention and care. Purpose of the position:

Responsible for project book-keeping, creditors, debtors and relevant reporting.

Minimum Requirements

Certificate/diploma in bookkeeping and or financial administration

  • 3 years in financial accounting/administration
  • Knowledge of financial accounting systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages
  • Clear credit and criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including cashbooks, bank reconciliations, journals, petty cash, and general ledger transactions.
  • Process and reconcile creditor and debtor accounts, ensuring timely payments, collections, and resolution of outstanding items.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, suspense accounts, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet schedules.
  • Monitor project income and expenditure to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Administer VAT, PAYE, UIF, and other statutory returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Support cash flow management through monitoring bank balances, processing transfers, and maintaining loan account reconciliations.
  • Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, funder audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation, ensuring proper filing, retention, and audit
