Job description
Key Deliverables:
Commercial Content:
- Recording and producing client generic promos in accordance with approved sales briefs and agreed deadlines.
- Ensuring that commercial content is produced in line with broadcasting and industry standards and regulations.
- Ensuring recording equipment is correctly configured to achieve clear, high-quality audio.
- Mixing and mastering audio to meet broadcast quality standards.
- Directing voice-over artists to ensure scripts are delivered according to the creative brief and client requirements.
- Recording and producing demo material for client proposals, presentations and pitches as requested by the Sales team.
Station and Show Imaging:
- Conceptualising, producing and uploading creative station and show imaging that appeals to existing and potential listeners.
- Developing seasonal, campaign and line-up imaging in accordance with the approved imaging calendar.
- Applying appropriate production techniques, sound design and audio effects to create engaging and innovative imaging that aligns with the station's creative direction.
Production and Audio Support:
- Producing liners, promos, pre-recorded interviews and other audio elements as requested by the Content Manager, Sales Manager or Production Supervisor.
- Providing audio production support for programming, sales, marketing and other business initiatives as required.
- Collaborating with presenters and producers to ensure production requirements are met within agreed timelines.
Pre-recorded Shows and Scheduled Audio Features:
- Recording all assigned pre-recorded shows and station features, including recurring content.
- Editing and finalising recorded material to broadcast standards.
- Submitting completed recordings for scheduling within required deadlines to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
Compiling and Maintaining Audio Archives:
- Collating and compiling programme dubbings for Programme Compliance Assessments (PCAs) and ICASA reporting requirements.
- Maintaining accurate and organised audio archives for end-of-year reporting and compliance purposes.
- Ensuring all required audio material is submitted accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
Qualifications:
- National Diploma - Radio Production / Sound Engineering - Essential
Experience:
- Radio Production - 3 years - Essential
Technology Proficiency:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Intermediate
- Digital Audio Workstations (Pro Tools) - Advanced
- Zetta / Selector - Intermediate
- Music & Sound Effect Libraries - Advanced
