Part-Time Nanny / Au Pair – Fourways

A family in the Fourways area is looking for a warm, reliable and hands-on nanny/childminder to assist in the afternoons.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 1:00pm – 6:00pm

School Holiday Hours:
Same or similar hours. Any additional hours to be discussed and paid separately.

Child Age:
3 years old

Main Focus:
The main focus of the role is our 3-year-old child. We also have a 1-year-old, but the afternoon role is mainly to engage, supervise and stimulate the older child through play, routine and age-appropriate activities.

Duties:

• Actively engage with a 3-year-old through play and interaction
• Plan simple, fun and age-appropriate activities
• Educational games such as colors, numbers, shapes, puzzles and matching games
• Reading books, storytelling, songs and language development
• Creative activities such as drawing, crafts, pretend play and sensory play
• Outdoor play when possible
• Encourage good manners, independence and positive behavior
• Help maintain a calm afternoon routine
• Light child-related tidying after activities and playtime
• Give basic feedback to parents at the end of the day

Special Requirements:

• Experience with toddlers / preschool-age children
• Creative, playful, patient and energetic
• Must genuinely enjoy working with children
• Must be able to keep a 3-year-old engaged without relying on screens
• Must be reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Must be comfortable following the family’s routine and parenting preferences
• First aid experience would be beneficial
• ECD, preschool or childcare background would be a bonus, but not compulsory

Applicant Requirements:

• Minimum 12 months of childcare experience preferred
• At least 2 contactable childcare or work references
• Clear criminal record
• Matric preferred
• South African ID document or valid work permit
• Good communication skills
• Honest and professional attitude
• No phone use while actively caring for the child, except for emergencies or parent communication

Salary:
R4,000 – R5,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.

Please note:
This is not a heavy cleaning position. The role is mainly child-focused, with only light child-related tidying. We are looking for someone proactive, kind and consistent who can become part of our child’s afternoon routine.

Pay: R4 500,00 - R5 000,00 per month
