Job description

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

As a Supervisor and part of the Cinema management team, you will provide support to the Cinema manager in the profitable and effective operation of the cinema to ensure smooth running of the daily operations. Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed correctly relating to operations, stock, HR and Marketing with a specific focus of the possible area allocated to your area of responsibility.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

· Ensure that all preparations are completed prior to shift commencement and consistent excellent customer interactions and ongoing attention is paid during relevant shift.

· Provision of accurate information to customers.

· Ensure that all staff interactions with customers are per the customer service guidelines.

· Ensure that all customer service-related problems are addressed speedily and efficiently.

· Manage employee productivity, performance and dress code (image).

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure timely reporting of equipment problems and malfunction.
  • Regular inspection of floor and restroom areas as per standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor the cleaning of foyer and service areas.

CASH MANAGEMENT

  • Perform all administration related to cash receipts and other payment forms, including regular monitoring of takings, cash drops and completion and submission of relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure that all preparations are completed prior to shift commencement and customer interactions.

· Opening of cashier sessions and completion of relevant documentation.

· Performing regular monitoring and spot checking of takings.

· Ongoing monitoring of behind-the–counter activities.

· Ensure that deletes and refunds are managed.

OPERATIONS

  • Ticket sales and admissions to comply with age restriction guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with age restriction guidelines.
  • Making up of standees, putting up posters and ensuring age restrictions and start dates are on the posters and standees
  • Ensure the ingesting content into the TMS system when necessary and return hard-drives back to the Support Office/Distributors and liaise with relevant people to resolve problems.
  • Ensuring perfect presentation and operate the Theatre Management System and perform basic Projector maintenance.

STOCK MANAGEMENT

· Ensure compliance to standard operations procedures relating to stock management.

· Assist with weekly stock counts and regular checking of stock, including spot checks.

· Managing, developing and motivating the team, making sure they understand the importance of stock room processes and safety and comply with relevant policies.

· Driving sales by ensuring stock is process quickly and efficiently.

· Assist in managing stock and all actions to minimize stock losses.

· Assist with internal and external audits.

· Assist with receive, issue and management of stock and bin contract according to standard operating procedures.

· Liaise with confectionery sales staff regarding replenishment points.

· Ordering of stock and managing of expired stock in various areas (.i.e. Bar; Alcohol; confectionery and food in the VIP area)

· Keeping stock room records correct and up to date at all times.

· Assist in proper storage of stock and ensuring the store room is organized, clean and used to its full allocation in a secured stock room environment.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

· Strong problem solving skills and pro-active structured approach to resolve all issues

· Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain good relationships

· Proven organizational skills

· Ability to endure a deadline driven environment consistently.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, and other standard office procedures and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the TMS system
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends and Public Holidays
  • Knowledge of the movie industry and a passion for film will be beneficial.

Pay: R7 500,00 per month
