Liberty Home is a residential addiction and mental health treatment facility committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive and recovery-oriented environment. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting clients through their recovery journey by facilitating therapeutic groups, conducting individual sessions, and contributing to the overall treatment planning process. This role requires someone who is confident working within a multidisciplinary environment and who is passionate about helping individuals achieve meaningful and sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic group sessions.
- Conduct individual occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Assist clients in developing healthy routines, life skills, coping strategies, and community reintegration plans.
- Collaborate closely with counsellors, nursing staff, psychiatrists, and other members of the treatment team.
- Maintain accurate and professional clinical records and documentation.
- Participate in case reviews, clinical meetings, and treatment planning sessions.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of therapeutic programming.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the relevant professional body (HPCSA).
- Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
- Experience providing individual counselling or one-on-one therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Advantageous Qualifications & ExperienceExperience working within addiction treatment, mental health, or residential treatment settings.
- Training or experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
- Experience facilitating skills-based groups such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, relapse prevention, or mindfulness.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.

Pay: From R30 000,00 per month

- Muizenberg, Western Cape 7945: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
