As a Network Administrator you’ll be supporting the delivery of a stable and well-maintained platform, covering our critical network infrastructure. This will help us excel at keeping the customer engaged with a world class experience to stay ahead of the game.
What You’ll Be Doing As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
- Administration /Engineering of networking environment:
- Ensure optimal configuration and performance of all network hardware and software.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Infosec, DevOps and Dev teams, actively providing assistance
- Proactively improve infrastructure, reducing operational costs and complexities.
- Perform maintenance on all relevant networking hardware.
- Logging of systems to ensure efficient troubleshooting.
- Ensure that all network equipment and configurations are securely backed up to a centralized repository, enabling efficient recovery and continuity in the event of system failures or configuration changes.
- Monitoring, notifications & standby:
- Ensure that effective monitoring is in place with appropriate escalation.
- Continuously monitor the network environment to track key performance metrics, including utilization, latency, packet loss, and jitter. Ensure that all deviations from expected thresholds are logged and trigger real-time alerts across both LAN and WAN environments to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
- PagerDuty is configured correctly with the correct standby roster.
- Adhere to the established incident management process for all production issues, ensuring timely identification, escalation and resolution
- Join the 24x7 standby that is rotated weekly
- Cloud:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal configuration and performance of respective cloud deployments, providing guidance and network best practices to align with organizational standards
- Review deployments and make changes / suggestions as needed
- Continual cost optimisation of cloud resources
- Terraform knowledge and ability to work with state files
- Azure & AWS networking knowledge
- Maintain great vendor relationships:
- Foster and maintain strong, professional relationships with external vendors, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and prompt resolution where applicable
- Hold vendors accountable for issues and outages.
- Maintain good support relationships
- Keeping track of hardware warranties and support contracts
- Information Security:
- Collaborate closely with the Information Security team to ensure the business is adequately protected, aligning security strategies with organizational objectives, identifying potential risks, and implementing proactive measures to safeguard critical assets and data where applicable.
- Ensure that changes are reviewed by the InfoSec and that best practice is adhered to.
- Adhere to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) and ISO 27001 standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Proactively manage audits, risk assessments, and security controls to maintain certifications and uphold the organization's commitment to data security and financial integrity.
- Maintain and configure load balancers for best practice.
- Work with and assist other teams to ensure best possible config for every situation.
- Review and ensure that load balancers are working within acceptable limits.

- Observium – Monitoring
- Scrutinizer - Netflow Analysis

Essential Skills You’ll Bring To The Table The necessary skills that we require for this role include:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively

- Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations
- A Relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification
- A Relevant Networking certification such as CCNA or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry.
- Proven understanding of Switching, Routing, Firewall and Load Balancer technologies.
- Proven understanding of Layer2 and Layer 3 networks with protocols such as VLAN, Spanning-Tree, MACSec, LACP, VRRP, HSRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IPSEC, NAT, Policy-Based Routing, SSLVPN.
- Proven understanding of Cloud provider networking
- Proven experience in configuring and deploying network equipment including but not limited to, Switches, Routers and Firewalls in a secure standards-based manner.
Desirable Skills You’ve Got Up Your Sleeve It would be desirable if you also have some of the following skills:
- In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends
- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
- Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies
- Experience in using coding/scripting to automate/reduce time taken to complete manual tasks.
