Job description
Overview
Using both Mechanical and Electrical knowledge and expertise to maintain, service and repair vehicles, equipment and machinery and to ensure reliable and efficient operation, contributing to the overall performance and safety.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 / N3 Technical Certificate.
- Qualified Millwright Trade Certificate (Section 13 or Section 26D).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Medical Certificate of Fitness to work in a mining environment.
- Clean Record
- Minimum 3–5 years post-trade experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience maintaining Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM).
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and electronic control systems.

General
- Do Shift Breakdown Maintenance on GHH Mining Machines in a manner that promotes reliability with total cost saving to the Client
- This includes all OEM mechanical & electrical work up to the Junction Box at the Mines Mini-Sub
- Arrange / request all spares required in a pro-active manner
- Might also be required to do Planned Maintenance on Surface on GHH Machines
- Be part of the pre-Shift Inspection on the Machines and Sign-off
- Inspect the machines and record the breakdown on the Daily Shift Inspection Reports, sign-off & hand-in to Data Capturer or Lead Technician
- Complete the Official Mine TM3 Breakdown Report Sign-off and get Mine Supervisor Sign-off
- Attend and contribute to all required Safety Talks & Actions
- Follow & adhere to all Mine Rules & Procedures
- Participate in the Management of Change process & implementation
- Identify Training needs of people on Site and communicate with Head Office
