Mechanical Draughtsman

Qualification/requirements:

· 3 - 5 years of experience as a draughtsman using 3D drawing software

· Experience with mechanical design and drafting, including knowledge of material properties and fabrication techniques

· Knowledge of the food and beverage industry (an advantage)

· Must have a valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities and Attributes:

· Drawing plan layouts, manufacturing drawings and 3D layouts.

· Make sure designs it is as economical as possible to ensure a minimum of waste.

· Collaborate closely with the assembly team and welders to incorporate feedback and ensure the feasibility of designs

· Work under the guidance engineers to refine and enhance drawings

· Make the necessary calculations for drawing development.

· Prepare detailed standardized work instructions.

· Manage and organise drawing files, ensuring version control and proper documentation

· Use work orders, sketches, written and oral instructions to determine “Scope of work”.

· Manage all requirements to meet the set target dates

· Communicate regularly with all parties involved in the project

· Ensure good communication with customers, suppliers and service providers

· Solving complaints and problems, effectively and professionally

· Ensure customer satisfaction

· Display a professional image

· Coordination and communication with all staff and staff in the Beveratech group

· Attend meetings, prepare project plans and timelines (where necessary)

· Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with specifications

· Execution of site surveys and measurements

· Attending meetings, taking minutes and setting agendas (where necessary)

· Order parts from suppliers (where necessary)

· Prepare material lists (BOQ)

· Prepare as-built drawings for laser cutting & bending

· Supervise the procurement of materials and the necessary consumables

· Handling of paperwork where necessary. (Quotes, invoice, delivery notes, orders, etc.)

· Prepare drawing revisions when needed

· Compilation of drawing and project timelines (where necessary)

· Perform tasks according to QMS standards

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Experience/Skills

· Proficient in 2D & 3D drafting programs for design and manufacturing preferably solidworks.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Can work independently as well as in a team.

· Good communication, numeracy, and computer literacy skills and a flexible mindset.

· Demonstrate a high level of problem-solving skills.

· Being results and deadline driven.

· Bilingual in both English and Afrikaans
