PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling materials management activities to ensure the timely availability, accurate recording and efficient movement of stock, consumables, bulk materials and critical spares in support of production, operations and maintenance requirements.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Coordinate and monitor end-to-end materials management activities.
• Ensure timely availability of production consumables, bulk materials and critical spares.
• Coordinate monthly cycle counts and bi-annual stock takes.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reduce stock variances.
• Create, maintain and update stock and non-stock material records in SAP.
• Coordinate monthly reconciliations for diesel, flux, acid and bulk gas.
• Ensure accurate cost centre charge-outs and reporting.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, SHEQ and governance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory control of salvage stock and investigate and report stock discrepancies and irregularities.
• Supervise and coordinate Stores personnel and contractors.
• Manage time and attendance, performance monitoring and employee development.
• Facilitate achievement of departmental KPIs and operational objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Completed Matric qualification.
• A degree or B Tech in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Materials Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years' experience within a materials coordination, stores, inventory control or supply chain environment.
• 3 – 5 years Supervisory experience within a materials management or warehousing environment.

• Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
• Strong planning, scheduling , organising and coordination skills.
• Material scheduling and inventory management expertise.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of Inventory management and stock control principles.
• Knowledge and working experience in materials planning and scheduling processes, including materials receiving, issuing and reconciliation practices.
• Understanding and working experience in inventory parameters, reorder levels and demand planning.
• Sound knowledge in supply chain and procurement processes aligned with SAP MM and Material Master Data management.
• SHEQ knowledge regarding stanrds and compliance requirements.
