The Opportunity
A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Servicing Technician to join its technical team in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, repair and installation of industrial ventilation, fan, HVAC and related engineering systems.
This position requires a technically competent and hands-on individual with a strong mechanical background. Candidates must hold a relevant trade or Millwright qualification, or have substantial practical experience within a similar mechanical, electrical, HVAC, ventilation or industrial servicing environment.
POSITION INFO: Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and servicing of industrial equipment and systems. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults. Complete repairs efficiently, accurately and safely. Install and maintain electrical systems used in HVAC and engineering applications. Service and maintain industrial fans, ventilation equipment and related systems. Work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure correct system integration. Attend customer sites to assess, service and repair equipment. Communicate clearly with customers regarding faults, repairs and service resolutions. Complete assigned work within agreed deadlines. Maintain tools, equipment and a clean working environment. Follow all health, safety and company procedures. Assist with workshop and site-based technical work. Travel to customer sites when required. Minimum Requirements Relevant trade qualification, Millwright qualification or equivalent technical experience. Trade-tested Electrician or Red Seal qualification will be advantageous. Practical experience in a maintenance, servicing or field technician role. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience. Ability to diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults. Experience within industrial engineering, HVAC, ventilation, fans or related applications will be advantageous. Refrigeration experience or knowledge will be beneficial. Valid driver's license. Willingness to travel and work at customer sites. Physically fit and able to perform workshop and site-based duties. Basic problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
