Job description
Afrizan is recruiting on behalf of a client for a Maintenance Contact Centre Agent to coordinate vehicle maintenance and repair activities. The successful candidate will assess maintenance requests, review quotations, authorise repairs and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to minimise vehicle downtime while maintaining strong cost and service control.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assess vehicle maintenance and repair authorisation requests.
- Review quotations to confirm the necessity and validity of repairs.
- Coordinate repairs with authorised service providers and monitor cases through to completion.
- Manage warranty claims, service plan allocations and goodwill repairs.
- Negotiate parts, labour and service costs with suppliers.
- Monitor maintenance costs, supplier performance and vehicle downtime.
- Maintain accurate case records, reports and supporting documentation.
- Provide regular updates to customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Certificate (NQF Level 5) in Call Centre Operations, Customer Service or Automotive Administration.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a call centre, fleet advisory or customer service environment.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases within agreed turnaround times.
- Experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance authorisations or a motor mechanical environment would be advantageous.
- Experience with fleet maintenance systems or dealership networks would be advantageous.
- An automotive trade qualification or relevant NQF Level 6 diploma would be advantageous.
