Purpose of Job
To coordinate all activities relating to vehicle scheduling and movement control as part of the facilities management business process within outbound Supply Chain operations.To liaise with the LCC, DRP, Org Unit representatives and PL services providers.To ensure internal coordination of onsite logistics activities including the vehicle inspection, queuing, call up, weighing and shunting functions
Key Accountabilities
- Execute the allocation of inventory or production capacity coordination. This includes implementing the sales and operations plan, managing the inflow of orders, prioritisation of the orders for distribution, and liaising with transport/distribution to ensure dispatch in line with priorities and allocations.
- Implement defined frameworks, policies and guidelines. Communicate continuous improvement opportunities of vehicle movement and slot booking system.
- Measure, benchmark and implement the closure of gap plan.
- Ensure compliance to all legal requirements, business rules, policies and internal controls as well as reviews and updates.
- Execute operational activities to ensure the efficient implementation of LCC schedule and optimal utilization of LOC loading facilities. Provide updated and accurate Supply Chain information.
- Monitor and manage transport. This includes, tracking and tracing of shipments, reviewing of exception reports, taking corrective action, recording demurrage and resolving transport-related issues.
- Implement transport operational management, focusing on the process of moving cargo from the distribution requirements planning, load planning, route planning, vehicle scheduling and the assurance of quantity and quality.
- Manage schedule and safety adherence for activities that interface with external service providers.
- Execute the receiving, loading stock management, storage and pipeline logistics.
- Management of inventory tanks levels and tank report, ensuring Production cutbacks are avoided.
- Management of non conformances, ensuring all non conformances are actioned and closed on quality system on SAP.
- Perform standby duties to ensure business continuity as and when required as per standby roster.
- Engaging with SHERQ/ EMS: Engage with SHERQ (Process Safety) and EMS when there is a road tanker incident (accidents, leakages, and spillages), whether there is safety noncompliance by the transporter, and such deviations and such incidents or deviation are captured in the quality system
- OTIFWAC: Ensure Road & Collections OTIFWAC targets are met for the financial year in question.
- Plant Cut Backs: Zero plant shutdowns / cutbacks due to Outbound Logistics failures.
- SLA Meetings: Proactively contribute to Service Level Agreement meetings.
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement with Production, LCC, CSR, DRP, Transporters and Tank Farm.
Formal Education
3 - 4 year Relevant University Degree/ Btech
