Junior Tax Accountant

A small accounting firm is seeking an experienced accountant/ tax consultant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for recording and maintaining the client’s business financial transactions, such as purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments.

Key Duties:

Some of the duties include but are not limited to:

• Drafting and production of financial statements
• Monthly management accounts
• Corporate income taxation (including provisional taxation), VAT, withholding taxation (WHT) and any other international tax.
• Payroll-related tax and compliance
• Deferred taxation calculations.
• Monthly tax filing and risks identified.
• Capture year end audit
• Ensure all relevant journals are processed.
• VAT calculations and submissions
• Income tax, provisional tax and VAT calculations and submissions
• EMP201 and 501 submissions
• Providing tax advice to clients
• Attend to SARS queries.
• Individual tax submissions
• Ensuring Tax compliance( Income Tax , VAT, EMP, other taxes)
• Dealing with clients and client queries

Requirements:

• Completed Diploma / Bachelor's Degree Field of Study: Finance/ Accounting
• SAICA, SAIPA, SAIBA, or SAIT accreditation beneficial
• 2 - 3 Plus years’ experience in the accounting field
• Experience and Knowledge of Sage Pastel Accounting, Payroll and Caseware (essential & Non-negotiable)
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Responsible and reliable.
