JUNIOR STORES ASSISTANT - ( STORE SERVICES DIVISION )

Responsibilities

• The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with receiving of stock, issuing of stock, handling delivery notes and invoices at the counter, providing effective client service and assisting with stock counts;
• Ensure proper stock control and safe store housekeeping;
• Perform labour-intensive duties associated with the position, including loading, unloading, lifting, carrying and moving of stock and materials, as well as prolonged standing and walking within the store’s environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 with 1 year of proven experience as a store’s assistant.

Required REQUIRED COMPETENCIES ( SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES ):

• Product Knowledge;
• Warehouse management systems;
• Stock Administration;
• Knowledge of Building maintenance and plumbing and stores financial systems;
• Health and Safety procedures;
• Computer Literacy;
• Ability to convey information clearly and concisely;
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork;
• Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills and methods to reduce tension and resolve conflict;
• Ability to develop plans to accomplish work operations and objectives;
• Ability to accomplish tasks and processes accurately and completely.

Added Advantages And Preferences

• 1 year Experience in an institute of higher education;
• Mobile machinery certification;
• Valid Driver’s License.

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
