Job description

We’re hiring a junior software developer to join a collaborative team building confidential web and mobile products in the agricultural space.

This is a full-time, remote role for someone based within roughly two hours of Stellenbosch, South Africa. While day-to-day work is remote, occasional in-person team meetings will take place in the Stellenbosch area.

Compensation: R 15 000 – R23 000 per month, depending on experience and fit.

Hiring timeline: Fast-moving, applicants can expect progress feedback within 2–4 days.

What you’ll work on

- Building and improving a web application and mobile application for the agricultural sector

- Developing frontend features, with Next.js preferred for web work

- Contributing to a React Native mobile app

- Working with databases and data-driven product features

- Collaborating closely with a small team on planning, implementation, testing, and iteration

What we’re looking for

- Junior-level software development experience or demonstrable practical ability

- A degree, technical diploma, or equivalent proven skills/experience in computer science, software development, engineering, or a related technical field

- Web development experience

- Experience working with databases

- Familiarity with, or enthusiasm to learn, Next.js and React Native

- Ability to work full-time during standard working days in a remote environment

- Residence within approximately two hours of Stellenbosch

- Clear communication, ownership, and the ability to work well in a team
