SUMMARY: Junior Shipping Controller – Bellville, Cape Town – R15 000 to R18 000
POSITION INFO: Junior Shipping Controller - Bellville, Cape Town - R15 000 to R18 000 Core Responsibilities Picking & Loading: Manage container loading, oversee container seals, control picking lists according to loading demand, and prepare\/approve commercial invoices. Administration & Client Relations: Check and approve export documentation and transport invoices; communicate ETAs, ETDs, and customs delays directly to clients and sales executives. Raw Materials & Local Transport: Book trucks for intercompany warehouse transfers; issue weekly transport requirements; reconcile transport tax invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes for finance. International Warehouses: Manage stock volumes, inventory flow, and stock reservations for international warehouses (BV, Inc.) using Syspro and Excel. International Reworks: Process reworks documentation, prepare import files, capture ACRs on pallets, and confirm jobs. Personnel Management: Monitor and control allocated forklift drivers in coordination with the warehouse controller. Planning & Rates: Send shipping documentation to clients or banks, manage local loading schedules, and negotiate rates with transport and courier companies. Reporting: Update \"Transporters Trips per Month\" sheets and submit weekly\/monthly ETA, ETD, documentation tracking, and warehouse reports. Key Requirements Technical Skills: Proficiency in Syspro and Microsoft Excel. Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of both local and international shipping functions. Documentation Expertise: Experience processing commercial invoices, pro-forma invoices, SAISI concessions, and export\/customs documentation. Operational Capabilities: Experience with container loading, transport booking, and pallet\/stock management.
