Junior Draughtsperson

Job Advert Summary

We are looking for a technically minded and detail-oriented Junior Draughtsperson to support the Western Cape team with the preparation and maintenance of accurate technical drawings and documentation for solar PV and related electrical installations.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• Draughting qualification or relevant technical qualification will be advantageous.
• 1–2 years' experience in a draughting environment will be advantageous.
• Experience with AutoCAD is essential.
• Experience with electrical, architectural, structural or solar PV drawings will be advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• A valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
• Experience with Inventor and Sketchup will be advantageous.

• Strong stakeholder and subcontractor management
• Experience in quality control and assurance
• Skilled in project planning, scheduling, and coordination
• Proficient in MS Project or similar planning tools
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping
• Strong communication and multitasking skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, update and maintain technical drawings for solar PV installations and related infrastructure.
• Produce accurate layouts, general arrangements, single-line diagrams and other technical drawings as required.
• Assist with the preparation of construction and as-built drawings.
• Interpret architectural, structural and electrical drawings and specifications.
• Incorporate engineering and site information into drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant technical standards, project specifications and Solareff standards.
• Revise drawings based on engineering, project and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate drawing registers and document control.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, site teams and other stakeholders to ensure drawing requirements are understood and accurately reflected.
• Assist with site measurements and verification of existing conditions where required.
• Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and within agreed project timelines.
• Maintain organised electronic drawing files and documentation.
