IT System Administrator/ Software Developer
PURPOSE
The above vacancy is available for suitably qualified individuals to support the department to meet its objectives so as to contribute positively to the overall company objectives.
QUALIFICATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Accredited qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Microsoft Certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Systems Administration.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with Microsoft SharePoint.
- Experience in software development and systems integration.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI).
- Experience in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and business applications will be advantageous.
- Experience in project management and implementing digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work shifts, overtime, and stand-by as and when required.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage and monitor all installed systems, cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system control tools.
- Create complex scripts to assist with monitoring systems, diagnostics, problem correction and automating routine tasks.
- Ensure an uninterrupted internet connection and manage mail servers for sending and receiving emails.
- Research upcoming products, service protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Technology Evaluation: researching new tools/solutions, making vendor recommendations.
- System Maintenance & Security: applying patches, updates, and security measures to protect against vulnerabilities.
- Monitoring & Optimization: proactively monitoring system(s) performance to identify and resolve issues before they affect users.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement improvements.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Security and Compliance: recommends and administers security and support policies, monitoring for threats, and ensuring system compliance.
- User & Data Management: Creating and managing user accounts, permissions, and network file systems, as well as performing data backup and recovery.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Perform and participate in Disaster Backup and Recovery (DBAR) initiatives. Such as developing, executing, and maintaining data backup and recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Provide second and third level support to both the corporate and production environments.
- Liaise with vendors and other I.T personnel for problem resolution.
- Create and maintain I.T policies and procedures and assist with I.T audits.
- Maintain I.T asset register, software approved list and user access review list.
- Manage I.T projects and provide feedback to the I.T Manager.
- Implement and maintain information security awareness.
- Implement and maintain anti-virus, malware, spyware, and email security systems.
- Assist in the management of user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, active directory administration.
- Ensure compliance with company I.T security rules and I.T governance framework.
- Manage CSA I.T helpdesk system with regards to workflows.
