Job description
Role Purpose
To lead and manage all inbound warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely receipt of inventory
into the Distribution Centre. The Inbound Manager is responsible for coordinating inbound deliveries, managing
receiving activities in Kerridge ERP and Scale Manhattan WMS, including Yard Management, Pre-Advice (ASNs),
receiving work queues, and receiving exceptions. The role ensures inventory accuracy, efficient stock flow from
receipt to staging areas, optimal dock utilisation, compliance with company procedures, and the achievement of
operational lead times and service levels.

Primary Objective
1. Oversee inventory control by maintaining high stock accuracy and ensuring all receipts are correctly
processed in Kerridge ERP and Manhattan Scale WMS.
2. Manage, lead, coach, and develop the Inbound team to achieve operational targets while fostering a culture
of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
3. Ensure compliance with company policies, warehouse procedures, quality standards, and health and safety
regulations.
4. Drive operational excellence by monitoring and improving inbound productivity, receiving turnaround times,
and inventory accuracy.
5. Ensure stock is received, checked, and made available for put away within agreed service level agreements
(SLAs).
6. Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, damaged stock, shortages, overages, and other inboundrelated
issues promptly.

1. Communication & Stakeholder Management
Represent the company in all forms of communication, maintaining good working relationships and
networks with internal and external stakeholders, external suppliers, and clients.
Respond to and follow up on all enquiries by email, telephone and personal visits as required.
Responsibility for building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate a strong customer service focus and quality communication and output in all interactions with
key stakeholders and external contacts.
Prepare and submit operational reports as required by management.

All query requests are responded to within 24 hours.
Communication with all stakeholders is professional.

All internal and external reports are accurate and delivered by the deadline.

3. Receiving Operations & System Management
Coordinate the receiving process, including scheduling and prioritizing shipments.
Inspect incoming goods for quality and quantity and document discrepancies.
Plan and organize receiving areas for efficient product flow.
Manage Yard Management activities, including monitoring inbound vehicles, assigning dock doors and
coordinating trailer movements.
Create, monitor and complete pre-Advice (ASNs) and ensure expected deliveries are processed within
agreed lead times.
Coordinate dock scheduling to maximise dock utilisation and minimise vehicle turnaround times.
Utilize ERP and WMS systems to track shipments and maintain records.

Timely and accurate communication with relevant departments.
Receiving completed within agreed lead times.
Accurate system receipting.
Low number of receiving discrepancies.
Accurate receiving documentation.
Minimal receiving backlog.
5. Inventory Management
Maintain high inventory accuracy through effective receiving controls.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies immediately.
Conduct inventory reconciliations and support cycle counts.
Ensure stock is staged correctly for put-away.
Monitor damaged, quarantined and returned stock.
Ensure inventory transactions are accurately processed in Kerridge and Manhattan Scale.

Inventory accuracy maintained above target.

7. Team Supervision
Recruit, train, and supervise receiving team members.

Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce receiving and put-away lead times.
Optimise receiving layouts and material flow.
Ensure effective utilisation of forklifts, PPTs, pallet jacks, rolltainers and Libins.
Support warehouse projects and system improvements relating to inbound operations.

11. Compliance and Safety
Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and warehouse procedures.
Ensure safe operation of forklifts, PPTs, pallet jacks, rolltainers and Libins.
Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
Maintain good housekeeping within the receiving and marshalling areas.
Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with all quality, safety and audit requirements.
Implement and maintain safety protocols within the receiving department.

Minimum Qualifications Required for the Position
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum Experience and Competencies for the Position
Minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center operations.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a high-volume warehouse
environment.
Experience using Kerridge ERP and Manhattan Scale WMS (or a similar Warehouse Management System).
Proven experience in logistics and receiving operations.
Strong knowledge of inventory management and control.
Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and protocols.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.
