Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
Location: Head Office in Tarlton, Gauteng (with travel to various company sites)
Industry: Access Scaffolding & Formwork
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (Occasional overtime required)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Officer to oversee site safety across all our active operational locations. Reporting directly to the Head Office in Tarlton, Gauteng, you will be responsible for conducting routine site inspections, enforcing compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and ensuring a secure working environment for all scaffolding and formwork personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Travel regularly between all active company work sites to inspect operations and enforce safety protocols.
Monitor risk assessments, hazard identifications, and safe work procedures specific to scaffolding and formwork operations.
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and site audits to ensure full OHS compliance.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations, implementing corrective measures promptly.
Prepare and submit detailed site safety reports and documentation back to the Tarlton Head Office.
Serve as the primary point of contact for site safety queries and regulatory inspections.
Requirements & Qualifications
Relevant OHS / Health and Safety Certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably within construction, scaffolding, or formwork environments.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle for daily site travel.
Strong knowledge of South African Occupational Health and Safety legislation and site safety regulations.
Excellent reporting, administrative, and communication skills.
Flexibility to work occasional overtime when operational demands require.
Pay: R15 000,00 - R22 000,00 per month
