Minimum Requirements
- BCom (Hons) Law (Essential/Minimum and/or)
- B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum and/or)
- BA (Hons) Law (Essential/Minimum)
- Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
- Master of Business Administration (Recommended/Desirable)
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (Recommended/Desirable)
- Certificate from The Institute of Risk Management South Africa (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
- 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Financial risk management, and Business Continuity
- Proven track record in senior management roles overseeing risk governance, combined assurance models, and business continuity management
- Demonstrated ability to lead development and implementation of risk frameworks aligned with strategic business objectives
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Group's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and risk appetite.
- Drive the integration of financial, operational, and strategic risks across business units, fostering a collaborative risk culture that supports effective decision-making.
- Oversee and coordinate the Combined Assurance Model, ensuring efficient coverage of assurance activities, elimination of duplication, and timely addressing of audit findings.
- Develop, maintain, and test comprehensive Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans to protect stakeholder assets and ensure operational resilience in the event of disruptions.
- Implement continuous control monitoring tools and processes to enhance real-time assessment of control effectiveness, and facilitate prompt corrective actions to mitigate risk exposure.
- Provide regular, detailed enterprise risk reports and strategic risk profiles to senior management and governance structures, supporting informed oversight and risk governance.
- Lead and support risk champions and business units through targeted training and coaching to embed risk management practices and enhance risk awareness across the organisation.
- Stay abreast of evolving legislation, regulations, and best practices related to enterprise risk management, compliance, governance, and business continuity, ensuring company adherence and competitiveness.
- Manage performance and culture within the risk function, fostering teamwork, accountability, and alignment with corporate values and strategic priorities.
- Advise senior leadership on risk governance matters, including the allocation of accountability for risk mitigation and control responsibilities, to ensure effective risk response and compliance.
