Gaming Blog Writer (Fully Remote Contractor - South Africa)

Pine Hosting is a game server hosting provider running a global fleet of servers for games like Minecraft, Rust, Palworld, Valheim and more. We're looking for a full-time content writer to own our blog - setup guides, tutorials, troubleshooting, patch news and everything in between.

This is a fully remote contractor role for someone based in South Africa, working standard hours (Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00 SA time).

We want someone who actually plays games, writes clearly in English, and knows how to find the topics people are searching for - not just churn out assigned articles.

What you'll do

• Write clear, accurate, genuinely useful content: how-to guides, tutorials, troubleshooting articles, "best of" lists, patch notes and gaming news.
• Research and pitch your own article ideas based on SEO and search demand. We expect you to find opportunities, not wait to be handed a list.
• Test and screenshot the games we host so your guides are accurate and your articles have original visuals.
• Keep content current as games update and hosting features change.
• Write with SEO in mind - keywords, structure, titles and meta that actually rank.

What we need — all required

• Strong written English. Clear, correct, easy to read. This is non-negotiable.
• Proven blog/content writing experience - you must be able to show published examples of your work.
• Solid understanding of SEO and content writing best practices.
• Strong familiarity with PC gaming - you play, you get the culture, and you know these games.
• A PC powerful enough to run the games we host for research, testing and screenshots.
• Strong research skills and the ability to work independently.
• Photoshop (or similar) and basic design skills for article visuals.

Nice to have — not required, but they'll make you stand out

• Hands-on experience with any of: Rust, Minecraft, Palworld, Valheim, Hytale or Project Zomboid.
• WordPress experience and basic web/HTML knowledge.

• Full-time, fully remote - work from anywhere in South Africa.
• Contractor role.
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 SA time.
