Financial Manager Group :Reporting

ROLE PURPOSE

The Group Financial Manager: Reporting has 6 Direct reports and is accountable for the interpretation, presentation, consolidation and disclosure of financial information in accordance with approved reporting definitions, accounting standards and statutory requirements. The role ensures financial information is reported consistently, accurately and appropriately and provides management, shareholders, auditors and regulators with reliable financial information.

KEY OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Reporting and Consolidation Manager serves as the custodian of reporting integrity and technical accounting governance across the Group. The role is responsible for ensuring that financial information is consolidated, reported and disclosed consistently across BMG and its subsidiaries (including foreign operations and entities supported through the shared service function).

The role owns:

• Group consolidation – Actuals, forecasting & budget
• Annual Financial Statements.
• Statutory reporting.
• Technical accounting.
• Accounting policies.
• IFRS16 accounting and governance.
• Tax accounting.
• Reporting definitions.
• Reporting hierarchies.
• Reporting governance.
• Oversight of the shared service function of supported entities.
• Oversight of subsidiary accountants and reporting activities.
• Management reporting – Management Accounts, audit committee, cashflow forecasting
• Management of the Fixed assets function (Capex, cellphones & vehicle finance)

The role is accountable for ensuring that:

• Financial reports are accurate and reliable.
• Reporting definitions are consistently applied.
• Consolidated results are supportable.
• Accounting standards are appropriately applied.
• Financial statements withstand audit scrutiny.
• Statutory reporting obligations are fulfilled.
• Finance services are delivered effectively.
• Reporting governance frameworks operate effectively.
• Balance sheet recons for applicable balance sheet accounts. Accounts are allocated between the reporting and operational financial managers.
• Financial and operational controls related to functions owned by this role.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION

• CA (SA)
• Minimum five (5) years of financial management and group reporting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience in a consolidation tool (Prophix, HFM)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Problem-solving skills
• Works effectively in a high-pressure environment
