Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant to take ownership of the full finance function across multiple entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining control, and providing management with clear, actionable financial insights.
This is a critical role within the business, requiring both technical accounting ability and strong commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Accuracy
Maintain integrity of the general ledger
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Manage intercompany accounts and loan balances
Ensure accurate journal processing and financial records
Management Reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Analyse financial performance and highlight key variances
Provide insights to support decision-making
Cash Flow Management
Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow forecasts
Monitor debtors and creditors
Ensure optimal cash flow management across entities
Tax & Compliance
Manage VAT submissions and reconciliations
Manage PAYE, UIF, and other statutory requirements
Liaise with SARS and external auditors
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist with annual budgets and rolling forecasts
Track performance against budget
Support financial planning and scenario analysis
Audit & Year-End
Prepare audit files and supporting documentation
Liaise with external accountants/auditors
Ensure smooth and timely completion of audits
Minimum Requirements
NQF 7: BCom Accounting or equivalent
Minimum 4–6 years relevant experience
Strong understanding of financial reporting and controls
Experience with multi-entity structures (advantage)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
Experience with Sage (advantage)
Valid driver’s licence
Professional Registration (Advantageous)
SAIBA / SAIPA / SAICA registration
