SUMMARY: An experienced electrician with strong fault-finding ability and experience in maintaining low-voltage (high amp), high-demand industrial equipment in a production environment, ensuring the reliability of plant equipment and minimising production downtime.
POSITION INFO: Duties: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant electrical systems and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on industrial machinery to minimise production downtime. Maintain electrical infrastructure including power distribution systems, generators, and control panels as well as boilers. Inspect and maintain three-phase electrical systems, motors, soft starters, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Conduct diagnostics using testing equipment Support electrical installations, upgrades, and machine modifications. Liaise with approved suppliers to obtain quotations and coordinate repairs when required. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations, including Lockout\/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Assist with production changeovers and plant maintenance activities. Qualifications and Experience: Matric or equivalent Certificate NQF Level 4 Electrical Qualification Trade Tested Electrician Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Experience working with industrial machinery and high-demand electrical systems Experience with three-phase electrical systems, motor control systems, VFDs, and soft starters PLC exposure or automation experience will be advantageous Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and respond to breakdowns in a production environment
