Job description
WE ARE HIRING!
We are looking for an Event Manager.
The successful candidates' responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the planning, management and execution of events within an allocated budget and to act as the Team Leader when required.
Requirements:
- Valid driver�s license (code B)
- Own reliable transportation
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Grade 12 certificate (Matric) or equivalent
- Minimum of 18 months relevant working experience (with contactable references)
- Ability to be on their feet for extended periods of time & available over weekends
- Setup and breakdown of necessary equipment before and after the event
- Project/Event Management diploma or certificate will be an advantage.
- Experience in working with hand tools / carpentry an advantage.
Required skills:
1. Liaison
o Manage accounts for brand activations and Festivals to ensure all is according to brand CI
o Ensure communication, maintenance, and development of relationships with clients and suppliers (New Business Development and Customer Retention).
o To book, schedule, brief and manage promoters for an events
2. Events
o Accountable for the development, production, and delivery of projects from proposal to completion.
o To set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on every project/event.
o To deliver events on time.
o Accountability to ensure that events on site runs according to plan.
o Identify, resolve any client complaints, and establish ways to improve
o To analyze each event�s success and report on it in a timeously manner.
o Ensure that all team members comply with Health and Safety regulations.
3. Finance/Budget
o Prepare project budgets
o Conduct events within the allocated budget.
4. Management
o To providing leadership, motivation, direction, and support to the events team.
o To supervise staff working on the event and to approve all aspects before the event.
o To resolve any problem that might occur before, during and/or after an event.
o To do debriefs post event to address any mistakes and eliminate reoccurring problems
