Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Enrolled Nurse position based in Pretoria. The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, basic clinical procedures, monitoring of vital signs, and documentation of care. Daily responsibilities include supporting residents with activities of daily living, observing and reporting changes in health status, and assisting with care plans under the guidance of senior nursing staff. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, communicating with residents and their families, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and person-centered care environment. The Enrolled Nurse will also help maintain infection prevention standards, follow organizational protocols, and participate in ongoing quality improvement and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Valid Enrolled Nurse qualification and registration with the relevant South African nursing regulatory body.
• Experience in elder care, long-term care, or similar clinical settings, with proven ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered support.
• Competence in basic nursing procedures, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and accurate clinical documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and build trust with residents and families.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain attention to detail, and follow clinical protocols and infection prevention guidelines.
• Commitment to maintaining residents’ dignity, independence, and confidentiality, and to upholding ethical standards of care.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required by resident care needs.
• Basic computer literacy for electronic records and reporting; proficiency in local languages spoken in the Paarl area is an advantage.
• Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification and ongoing participation in professional development and training.
