Job description
EXPERIENCE: Experience in gerontology/geriatrics and the ageing process; nursing care plans; writing progress reports; nursing assessments for the aged, including the physically and/or mentally frail. The incumbent should have a person-centred approach to care.
COMPETENCIES: Competent in the following: nursing assessments and the design of nursing care plans to enable the co-ordination of activities of daily living in terms of care needs; scheduling activities and resources and delivering services to residents; medication management and control. Computer proficiency is essential as all nursing records are captured electronically. The ability to speak, capture data and understand English and Afrikaans is essential for the position.
ATTITUDE: Positive and proactive in caring for the aged and dedicated and committed to identifying needs and providing nursing care. The incumbent will need to be observant and enthusiastic but will also need to be patient and empathetic and have an understanding of client limitations. Willingness to work night shifts
