Job description

Job Summary The Maintenance Electrician will perform complex technical work, on a journeyman level, in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and related electro-mechanical systems, in accordance with applicable Electrical Industry Codes.

Job Responsibilities

Inspect the premises regularly to identify equipment and machines in need of repair
Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs
Plan and conduct routine electrical maintenance using the applicable buildings blueprints or equipment manual as mandated
Repair faulty wiring where a specialised electrical technician is not required

Additional Duties

The incumbent will be asked to perform additional maintenance duties on occasion
Be on standby and work overtime when required

Experience And Skills

2–3 years’ electrical experience
PLC programming experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Experience with CCTV and access control systems
Medium- and low-voltage switching experience
Mechanical experience
Advanced computer literacy

Qualifications

N3 in Electrical Engineering
Electrical Trade Test
Valid Code 08 driver’s licence
Wireless licence (advantageous)
