VACANCY: ELECTRICAL FACILITATOR / LECTURER (QCTO OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATION – ELECTRICIAN NQF LEVEL 4)

About the Role
Our college is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Facilitator / Lecturer to deliver training aligned to the QCTO Occupational Qualification: Electrician
Minimum Academic / Qualification Requirement:
- A qualification at least one level higher than the occupational qualification being offered (NQF Level 5 or higher) in a relevant electrical or technical field
- (or equivalent recognised post-trade / occupational qualification)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Trade Test Certificate (Electrician – Red Seal)
- Proven industry competence as a qualified electrician
- Strong practical experience in electrical installations and systems
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Electrical installation work
- Wiring and control systems
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Electrical maintenance and repairs
- Electrical drawings and schematics
- Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Facilitating learning aligned to the QCTO Electrician occupational curriculum
- Training learners in electrical installations, wiring, testing, inspection, and commissioning
- Teaching electrical fault finding, maintenance, and repair techniques
- Ensuring learner competence in electrical drawings, schematics, and practical applications
- Embedding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards in all training
- Preparing learners for the External Integrated Summative Assessment (Trade Test)
- Conducting formative assessments, workplace readiness evaluation, and learner support
- Maintaining training records and compliance with QCTO and institutional requirements
Recommended Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years post-trade experience in the electrical field
- Experience in domestic, commercial, and/or industrial electrical systems
- Motor control system experience (advantageous)
- ETDP Facilitator qualification or equivalent (advantageous)
- Assessor registration with relevant SETA/QCTO (advantageous)
- Moderator registration (advantageous)
- Knowledge of QCTO occupational training and assessment systems
Key Competencies
- Strong practical and theoretical electrical knowledge
- Ability to train and mentor adult learners
- High attention to safety, compliance, and standards
- Good communication and classroom facilitation skills
- Ability to prepare learners for trade test readiness
- Strong organisational and reporting abilities
