Draughtsman

We are looking for a detail-oriented Draughtsman who excels at both interpreting complex technical drawings and creating accurate 2D/3D models. In this role, you will bridge the gap between design concepts and real-world execution by working closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and site teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate / Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Desirable)
• 1+ years of professional design-related experience.
• Technical Drafting Experience: Demonstrated practical experience in draughting and technical illustration.
• Valid driver’s license & own reliable transportation.

Key Competencies & SkillsTechnical Competencies (Drawing Comprehension & Creation)

• Technical Drawing Interpretation (Reading & Understanding):
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex technical schematics, architectural drawings, and engineering markups.
• Understanding layer conventions, scale calculations, and industry standard symbols (ISO, SANS, ANSI, etc.).
• Drawing Creation & Technical Drafting (2D & 3D Execution):
• Practical skill in producing detailed 2D technical drawings and layout plans from sketches, concepts, or raw data.
• Proficiency in building accurate 3D BIM or CAD models using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
• Expertise in detailing, adding annotations, precise dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Quality Assurance & Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:
• Capability to perform clash detection by cross-checking drawings against structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) layouts.
• Verifying dimension accuracy and modifying existing drawings based on redlines or site changes.
• Documentation & Site Verification:
• Extracting Bills of Materials (BOM), managing drawing registers, tracking version control (Revisions A, B, C), and exporting file formats (PDF, DWG, DXF, IFC).
• Conducting site visits to capture as-built measurements and updating final construction/fabrication drawings.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to scale calculations, site measurements, and drawing revisions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address markups, resolve technical drawing queries, and fix layout clashes.

• People & Communication Skills: Clear communication to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, project managers, site managers, and fabricators.
• Ability to Work Under Pressure: Proven capacity to manage time efficiently and hit strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R15 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Edenvale, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
