Diesel & Petrol Mechanic (unqualified)

Job Title: Diesel & Petrol Mechanic (Turf Equipment Specialist Preferred)

Position Overview:
Seeking a skilled and reliable mechanic to diagnose, repair, service, and maintain diesel and petrol machinery. Turf equipment experience is highly desirable. Must be an all-rounder with strong mechanical, welding, and fabrication skills, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel/petrol engines, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel systems.
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Rebuild engines, transmissions, and differentials as needed.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.

Turf Equipment (Preferred):

• Work with ride-on/walk-behind mowers, cylinder/reel mowers, greens, fairway, rough mowers, utility vehicles, aerators, topdressers, sprayers.
• Familiarity with Toro, John Deere, Kubota, Jacobsen brands.
• Knowledge of reel setup, cutting unit adjustments, and turf-specific hydraulics advantageous.

Welding & Fabrication Skills:

• MIG and Arc welding, metal fabrication, repairing frames, basic machining, and custom modifications.
• Ability to problem-solve and fabricate parts when replacements aren’t available.

Additional Skills:

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Read and interpret service manuals/schematics.
• Hydraulic hose repair and basic electrical troubleshooting (12V & 24V).
• Independent worker with good time management and commitment to safety.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3–5 years’ experience with diesel/petrol engines.
• Turf industry experience preferred.
• Welding/fabrication certification advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license required.
