Diesel Mechanic

Introduction

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing trucks and trailers while ensuring all work is completed to high safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate must have strong diagnostic abilities, be reliable and willing to work overtime and standby when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailers
• Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on diesel vehicles
• Carry out preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns and downtime
• Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical issues accurately
• Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to company standards
• Attend to breakdowns and standby duties when required
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and workshop regulations
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Trade-tested / qualified Diesel Mechanic
• Proven experience working on trucks and trailers
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Willingness to work overtime and be on standby when required
• Valid driver’s license
• Transport industry experience will be advantageous
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
