Position: Diesel Mechanic
Industry: Agricultural Machinery / Tractors
Employment: Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Diesel Mechanic to join a growing agricultural tractor and parts operation based in Louis Trichardt (Makhado).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of tractors and agricultural machinery, both in the workshop and at customer sites.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate should have:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic / relevant trade qualification preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years practical diesel mechanic experience
- Previous experience working on tractors and agricultural machinery is strongly preferred
- Good knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems
- Ability to perform fault finding and diagnostics
- Experience with tractor servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability and willingness to travel to farms and customer sites when required
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, responsible and professional work ethic
- Ability to communicate effectively with farmers and customers
Experience working on Landini other major agricultural tractor brands will be highly advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Servicing and maintaining tractors and agricultural machinery
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Engine, gearbox, clutch and transmission repairs
- Hydraulic system diagnosis and repairs
- Electrical fault finding
- Preventative maintenance and scheduled services
- Preparing tractors and equipment for delivery
- Conducting field repairs and breakdown assistance on farms
- Identifying required parts for repairs
- Completing job cards and service records accurately
- Maintaining workshop tools and equipment
- Providing professional technical assistance to customers
- Working closely with the parts and sales departments
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and takes pride in their workmanship.
You must be comfortable working independently, travelling to farms, dealing directly with customers and finding solutions when equipment breaks down.
Agricultural experience and an understanding of the farming environment will be a major advantage.
REMUNERATION
Market-related salary based on qualifications and experience.
Salary package will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
Pay: Up to R30 000,00 per month
