Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our fleet maintenance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy commercial vehicles to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks and fleet vehicles
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults
Conduct engine, gearbox, clutch, brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs
Carry out fault finding using diagnostic equipment where applicable
Inspect vehicles and identify maintenance requirements
Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard and within required timeframes
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Conduct breakdown repairs when required
Report major defects and maintenance concerns to management
Ensure compliance with all safety and workshop procedures
Assist in minimizing vehicle downtime and improving fleet reliability

Requirements

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
Experience working on Mercedes-Benz Actros, Freightliner, and UD Trucks is essential
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, truck systems, and heavy vehicle maintenance
Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
Experience with diagnostic tools and fault-finding equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Must be reliable, diligent, and safety-conscious
Valid driver's licence required (Code 14 will be advantageous)
Relevant trade qualification will be advantageous
